Melco Industrial Supplies Co., Ltd. was established in 1971 as an importer and distributor for fastener products in Hong Kong. Since then, Melco has become one of the market leaders in sales of high quality screws & fasteners from Japan.

Under its product and market development strategies, measuring tools, cutting tools, machinery accessories, valves and pipe fittings from China were added into the business portfolios from 1974 to 1982. At the same time, we began export business to South Korea, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Europe & South Africa.

In mid 80's, the plastic injection moulding machine manufacturing industry was ready to take off in China and Hong Kong, Melco successfully introduced Italy-made piston and orbital motors to these markets. Till now, we are one of the key suppliers of imported hydraulic motors in these markets.

Our business has grown significantly since the listed company, Cosmos Machinery Enterprises Limited, wholly owned Melco in 1990. Under the sophisticated networking of "Cosmos" as well as its excellent relations with the Ministry of Foreign Trade and the Economic Cooperation in China, Melco has involved intensively in China trade. In 1992, we have extended our product range by addition of a new Strategic Business Unit for special steel wires.

To facilitate our marketing activities in China, we established two branch offices in Shanghai and Guangzhou in 1993 and 1994 respectively. We acquired a business division with sophisticated logistics to facilitate our direct sales in South and Mid-East China.

In 1998, Melco took an important strategic move in China by establishing a wholly owned subsidiary in Guangzhou and investing a large amount in logistic operations to further strengthen our overall competitiveness. In particular, we established a warehouse to provide full range stock of our carrying products to serve the immediate needs of customers. Moreover, another subsidiary and warehouse were established in Shanghai in early 2000.

Starting from 2001, Melco has been extending the product line to cope with the increasing demand of factory automation products such as premium quality machinery accessories and tools, high precision machine vision components and systems, sophisticated servo motor systems and the related products. Furthermore, Melco has equipped more machines to strengthen our processing ability like metal slitting machine, packing machine and a variety of high precision inspection instruments.
